Why is this still not fixed? For a group orientated game they sure make it hard to get to a group. There is no getting around the fact you will have to pass by atleast SOME mobs when trying to get somewhere.Where is the fun in dieing,or killing others by train, cause my invis dropped? I'm just trying to get from point A to point B so I can have some fun.
Make yourself a audio-alarm that is triggered by the phrase "you feel yourself starting to appear".
You'll then have like a 2 or 3 second window to get to a spot out of agro range where you can re-invis.
65++ most casting classes get an improved or innate invis that won't randomly drop off. Druid gets a spell at 65 that can be cast on group members that is a no-drop invis, and both Druid and Ranger can get an AA group innate vis (insta-cast).
Pay attention to your buff box and/or your chat messages. Invis doesn't just drop suddenly. You actually get 18 seconds IIRC of blinking and "you feel yourself about to appear" before the invis drops. You just need to pay attention.
Also. Don't assume that invis works against everything. Undead mobs are not affected by regular invis, and invis vs undead only works against undead. The other type of mob will see through it. When they do, they'll agro you, which will cause invis to drop immediately. Also, some mobs just plain see through invis. Period.
When traveling through a dangerous area with invis, you should *always* /con the mobs you are passing to make sure they can't see you. If the mob is anything other then indifferent, then your invis isn't working against him.
And, for the record, there's nothing to "fix". This is the way it's supposed to work. You're not supposed to have a free "avoid any mob in the game" ability. Not every class in the game gets invis, so be happy you get it at all. Playing a paladin for years before there were things like invis potions in the game, I learned that if you pay attention, you can get almost anywhere in this game without using invis at all. Frankly it amazes me when people who have invis manage to fail at traveling through what to me are "easy" travel zones.
Playing a monk, I can't cast invis, so I buy Cloudy Potions. I carry 2 stacks with me at all times. I don't have it set up in my potion belt, but I put it into an empty slot so I can create a "Button" that I can see without having to open my inventory. Then comes the audio trigger. Audio triggers are a necessity when it comes to invis (or even levitation - allows you to get to the ground without falling an enormous distance). The split second gives you enough time to pop another potion before the previous one disappears and makes you appear. Like mfbrownbear stated before, it's insta-cast so you don't have to stop running to use it.
As for the timing of invis dropping, it can be upsetting. I've had the cloudy potion invis drop on me not 2 secs from using it, but then I've also had 1 potion last thru several zones, one time it included Western Karana. So it's totally random, but as stated before, it's the way it's always been, and it adds a realistic feel to the situation. Not everything works perfectly all the time. If it did, nobody would fizzle on their spells, nobody would miss on a melee attack, nobody would take any damage ever, etc. And how fun would that be? That'd be like playing God-mode on Duke Nukem just so you can say you beat the game. Just my 2 cps.
