So I'm on the boat fishing up Noble Ladies and Bluetail to skill up and notice for the past few days. I've haven't seen not one random typed named lvl 1 fishing bot on the boat, with the constant message "<random typed name> caught a Nebimonite" Glade SE finally decided to block China. Makes fishing here so much more enjoyable.
Talacca Cove is my new RMT-free skill up spot. I am literally the only person in this zone on my server, and have the occasional person pop in when they need AF/Quest/Mission there or whatever. Awesome place, getting 2 levels a night there. Don't think I'll ever have to step foot on the ferry again.
Most likely 90 cap ahtapots. They are used in black ink synthesis.
On an awesome side note, I was fishing on the ferry yesterday as MNK/WHM and a level 38 warrior happened to be standing right under sea horror when it popped and aggroed him. I tried to pull it off him with Dia but he died. ;; Suddenly, realized I'd left most of my monk soloing gear in my MH and would soon be dying to sea horror myself. I ran to the back of the ferry to die so that it wouldn't aggro anybody else. A minute later I was dead and I figured sea horror would now move back to the middle of the boat without aggroing anyone. However, apparently MPK updates do not apply to sea horror and he used is awesome power to OHKO two fishbots!
A Shrimp Lure will get you Mercanbaligi (86), Ahtapot (90), and Dil (96). All 3 are the ToAU equivalents of Bastore Bream, Grimmonite, and Black Sole. I parsed it at about a 50% bite rate on an average moon. Great place to skill up/profit off as each fish sells for 600-700G to vendors. If you have cooking leveled, this place would be Sushi/Taco heaven. The fish are a bit of a struggle though in the 60s, but all are catchable.
Talacca Cove is a beautiful place cause no one is there, and there are no monsters at all. Except for the ones you fish up, but you can quickly stun/sleep and run for the zone. No need for ferry's, and the fish NPC for fairly good amount. If people would use the ToAU fish for recipes though on the AH I could really see this place become RMT heaven. In the meantime it's the only place that I've been able to make a profit at.
